  Bark Place is Breakheart Reservation’s new fenced-in Dog Park within a park. Breakheart Reservation itself is easily accessible, located just outside of Boston off of Route 1, and has ample parking with a large overflow parking lot behind the target and stop and shop—something Boston drivers rarely have the pleasure to enjoy. Not having to fight for a parking spot, or pay a big fee to stay in a lot already makes Breakheart an ideal place to bring the dog and fam.

  !!-Upon entering Breakheart there’s a large welcome center, and a separate information booth. This is important to note, as the information booth is stocked full of extra doggie poop bags.

  Although the walk to the fenced in Bark Place dog park area is about a mile from the parking area, the landscape of Breakheart is breathtakingly beautiful. In autumn, luscious red and orange leaves dangle lazily, fluttering with the cool afternoon breeze and thick layers of moss and Ivy cover stony outcroppings that pepper the forest. There are an abundance of trails to adventure down that lead to lakes, and up that overlook the Massachusetts country side, but to reach the leash free area of the park, stay on the paved main trail that winds through the park...

  After about a 15 min stroll, you will start to see signs directing you to the dog park which is a recent addition to the Breakheart Reservation.
The Bark Place dog park was created as a joint venture between the DCR and the friends of Breakheart reservation, sharing costs of construction and maintenance. It was developed by reclaiming an abandoned parking lot, and provides a safe play environment in a lovely area surrounded by tall hemlocks.
