The Lynn Woods Reservation in Lynn Massachusetts is an excellent dog friendly park to take a dog for an on-leash stroll or jog.

The Lynn Woods was founded in 1881, covers 2,200 acres and features several trails to choose from. It’s a 20 minute drive from the heart of Boston and has two free parking lots. The train does stop at Lynn, but the park is a good 30 min walk or more from the station. It's also a popular park amongst mountain bikers, bird watchers and dog owners.

Stone Tower - Image By Jack Boudreau The trails take park goers through deep woods with stone stairways that lead to open meadows and peek out over large ponds. Lynn Woods consists of three fresh water ponds, wetlands, streams, birch, evergreens and unique rock ledge. Birch Pond, Walden Pond, Breed Pond and Tomlins swamp all lie within the large reservation. The ponds help to contribute to the cities water supply, so swimming is prohibited for people or pets.

Wildlife abounds in the forest. Deer, rodents, red tailed foxes and over 100 species of birds live in the woods, so there are lots of cool new smells for dogs to enjoy.
